What's up Sunday?

Hey y'all what's going on?

Got home after midnight this morning and came in the living room ... I could see the ceiling coming down. The apartment upstairs had a plugged up air conditioner again, so my ceiling was dripping. I had to call the maintenance guy. The young guy came over not long after I called, then had to go upstairs to fix things upstairs. He had to wake them up up there. But eventually, he got things stopped. He'll have to come today again to check and make sure the overflow is not running over yet. Then on Monday, the older guy will have to fix the ceiling. He should have done it the last time it happened, because now it was much weaker and when it got wet, it started falling apart.

Other than that, not much happened. Funny, no one mentioned my boo-boo from Friday. So I didn't offer.

Back to work  today ... but then I have Monday and Tuesday off ... two days in a row. What did I do to deserve this? Not going to question it. So happy to have a real weekend.

Anyway, chat away. I'm going to go to bed.

Morning Eileen and all to follow. Up at 4:30, went to bed too early, ugh.
Sober 251 days and so proud of me. Kept a sleeply low profile yesterday. Wonder what today will bring. Sciatica hurting from sleeping on left leg all night. Not nice.
Lynn from PA wrote a great article on the OH homepage about clothes..check it out.
Got my thyroid script at Walmart for $23/month, thanks for the advice on where to go. Working with new doctor has been good so far. BP is still high, but getting better.
Have a blessed Sunday all. Hugs, Monica

Good mornin', Eileen, Monica and everyone else to come.
Eileen, you remind me of Chicken Little, the sky is falling, the sky is falling!! I hope they fix your ceiling and it is a permanent fix!
Monica, still so proud of you. I can't believe you have been so successful for almost a year. Go you!!
Back in October we got a sleep number bed. After a week, we finally got our numbers correct for each of us. We are both a 100. For 7 months or so I have awakened each morning feeling better than I had in a very long time. No back ache, no aches anywhere. In May or so I began waking up with a slight backache and a stiff neck. My pillows are the same. The doc did an xray and my arthritis is spreading to my neck, from my back. I began playing with my bed numbers. A new number, a week of evaluation, a new number. I finally gave up because things were getting worse, not better. So a week ago I went back to 100. Two days ago I woke up with terrible back pain!! It hasn't gone away. I have been using heat, but the trouble with that is, when you take the heat away the pain seems worse. This morning I am walking bent over!! I am so frustrated. I have begun using my ultram again, nothing! I also have tylenol 3 which does nothing. I have a few percocet left, but why bother if the pain just comes back when I stop. I am frustrated! I don't want to be one of those ladies who walks bent over forever. What is the difference between arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and osteo arthritis?
Oh well, maybe I have to give my back more time to get used to the old bed number.
Everyone have a fantabulous day?

Good morning Eileen, Monica and Grammylew!

Always something going on here in OFFville.  I get up and first thing I have to do is check on everyone!

Eileen, I'm glad they didn't make a fuss about your error at work!  I've been thinking about that and wondering what happened.  Sorry about your ceiling!  What a mess that must have made!  Glad the maintenance guys are coming to fix it.

Monica, you sound better today.  Not so worn down by the "fight".  I'm sorry about the sciatica.  I've never had it, but one of my former bosses did and I saw how she suffered with it.  Hope the new meds and the new doctor can get you all straightened out soon!

Carolyn, maybe it's time for you to go see a specialist?  There must be some in your area, even if you have to drive a couple of hours to get to them.  I'm sorry your back is hurting you so much.  Prayers for healing and good docs to help you!

Well, my little grandson woke up with chicken pox yesterday!  Daughter called and was a little panicked by all the spots.  She didn't know what they were and, of course, it was Saturday.  Why do babies never get sick from 9-5, M-F?  Anyway, as we were talking about it, come to find out he had his chicken pox vaccination about 2 weeks ago, just after his 1st birthday.  Aha!  Got on-line and discovered that it is not uncommon for a child to come down with a MILD case of chicken pox after the vaccine.  So far he's just cranky and spotty.  No fever and not itching, so hopefully it won't get any worse than that.  I sure do wish I was there to help, but she's an intelligent person.  I told her what to do and I know she can do it.  All mommies have to learn how to care for sick children at some point, right?  It's her time to learn.

I had some real "feel good" moments yesterday afternoon.  I went down to the lake for the Board meeting and I got several compliments about my WL.  None of these folks know I had surgery, and most of them haven't seen me in awhile, so they were all astounded by the "new" me.  I never thought I would say it feels good to be in a size 18, but compared to a size 3X, it feels terrific!

Today I have a whole day to spend at home, playing around in my kitchen.  My latest batch of pickles has been soaking for 3 days in the brine.  Today I'll drain them and start the pickling process.  Just 2 more days to go before I can them.

And I'm ready to do my peaches today.  I'm so excited to try this Agave Nectar and see how it all turns out.  I'll post a progress report later on today.

Got to take my pups to get their nails trimmed this afternoon.  The local pet store offers free nail clippings on Sunday afternoons, but of course, I always tip the girl who does it.  She's a doll and so gentle with my babies.

Waiting for my weekly phone call from Butch today.  He calls me once a week, usually about mid-morning on Sunday.  I figure if I wait for the phone call before starting my peaches, he won't call until noon.  If I go ahead and start on them this morning, he'll call at 9 a.m., right in the middle of things.  I might as well go ahead with them, and if he calls in the middle, that's what Fruit Fresh is for, right?  Keep them from turning brown!

I'm hoping our local Hobby Lobby will have a custom framing sale soon.  I have several pieces of cross stitch that I would like to have framed for the new lakehouse.  My walls are woefully bare down there.  I just need a few little things to hang around on the walls for now.

Well, better get started on my canning adventure this morning.  Hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday.

Love you all!

When my 3 kids got the chix pox, I discover baking soda in the bath tub made a huge difference with how they felt. Been using it ever since and they do too as adults.
Hope Bennie feels better, your daughter should check with pediatrician about either using Tylenol or motrin for wee ones with chix pox.

Good morning Eileen & all. Boy never a dull moment Eileen. Will pray for some good excitment for you!!!!
We have had company for over a week. My daughter & her family first. They left Tuesday afternoon, then Tuesday night my sons girlfriend & her mom were here for 5 days. Had so much fun as cherry festival was going on. Love to show off our area to new people. We get to play tourest with them!
This morning  laundry & I already picked a few quarts of sour cherries. I am going to make marachino cherries out of some of them. Then freeze the rest. I make jam all winter.
Looks like we will get 10 to 15 qts. this year. I still have another cherry tree to plant plus an apple tree. Thats all the news for me today. I hope things slow down soon. Have a great all.

Nan, be sure and post how they turn out.  I'm so envious of your cherry trees!  I love cherries, but they cost an arm and a leg to buy down here.  I would love to have my own crop of them!

I'm going to have a bumper crop of pears in a couple of weeks.  Trying to figure out what to do with them without sugar!  Maybe this agave syrup will work well.  Going to have a fair crop of figs, too.  Love fig preserves!  Don't know how to make them without sugar!

See ya!
